jan 20, 1788 - When the First Fleet Arrived

Description:

20th January 1788 Captain Cook landed on Australian soil with a fleet of 11 ships it had over 1500 people of all ages and genders. They left Portsmouth England, May 1787. With the fleet led by Captain Arthur Phillip they landed on Botany bay where the set up a settlement which they kept expanding and developing into the Australia we have today.
