On the 19th of April 1770, Captain James Cook was said to discover Australia . He jotted it down in his journal. On the 28th of April 1770, Captain Cook and a few crew members left the HMS Endeavour and went on the shore of Botany Bay. There, he encountered the Indigenous, who at first thought they were ghosts. They soon realized that they were new people and were frightened by them. They brought their spears but were overpowered by the guns that shot them.Added to timeline:
