jan 1, 1521 - Martin Luther Exocommunicated
Martin Luther was excommunicated by the church and was summoned to appear before the Reichstag. He was excommunicated because he had called on German princes to overthrow the papacy, and said that it is faith alone, and he wrote not good works that will bring you salvation. "Good works do not make a good man but a good man does good works." He wrote "heretical documents."
