jan 15, 1929 - Martin Luther King Born

Description:

Taught about organisation and tactics by Randolph. King around in an era when people were more eager for change. He faced some of the same criticisms Washington received in seeking to work with white supporters. His leadership produced a similar reaction to that of Washington in the growth of more radical leaders such as Malcolm X. His platform had been created for him by black leaders before him so arguably some of the impact he had was down to them.

In 1957, he set up the Southern Church Leadership Conference (SCLC) along with others. Saw the power of mass demonstrations and believed in non-violence. He also aimed at links with white supporters, aiming for integration and equality with white cooperation.
