The Taipei 101 (formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center) is one of the tallest skyscrapers in the world, located in Xinyi, Taipei. It was designed by C.Y. Lee & Partners, and was constructed from 19999 to 2004. It was built to symbolise the evolution of technology combining with Chinese traditions and is acknowledged as a postmodern structure. The building has an amazing 61 high-speed elevators that move at about 17 metres per second. However, the most well-known feature of this building is undoubtedly the fact that it is 101 stories tall, and once the tallest building in the world, which makes it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world.
