Description:
The Seljuk Turks took over and ruled the remaining portion of the Abbasid Empire in the name of the Caliphs for two centuries. The Seljuk Turks were also Sunni, and did everything in their power to remove all Shi'a officials and influences. The Seljuk Turks, for a time, restored political initiative to the caliphate.
