Description:

The V-2 rocket pioneered the space age and was essentially the first space rocket. The V-2 made many innovations, one of which (and arguably the most important) was automatic guidance. A computer combined with gyroscopes continually monitored the position of the rocket. Any detected deviations would be adjusted for by the rudders on the fins of the rocket.
