Description:
Blaesilla was the daughter of a wealthy widow, Paula. Paula was a widowed scholar who was a close friend of St. Jerome. Blaesilla married in her teens but after being widowed became a consecrated virgin.
Her death is thought to be the result of extreme asceticism.
