sep 1, 1905 - Alberta and Saskatchewan join Confederation

Description:

Alberta and Saskatchewan became Canada’s eighth and ninth provinces. Both provinces were created out of a portion of land from the Northwest Territories. Originally a large western province called Buffalo was to be made, but then prime minister Wilfrid Laurier didn’t want to give so much power to Western Canada and decided to turn that land into two separate provinces.
