Description:
The Hydro-Electric Power Commission of Ontario was created. It was the first publicly owned electric utility in the world at the time, selling electricity to Ontario communities. Their first project was building electrical transmission lines from Niagara Falls, where the electricity is created, to Toronto. Eight years after founding, the company supplied electricity to over 100 towns and cities in Ontario.
