Description:
The Métis provisional government was created to negotiate terms about the Northwest joining Confederation. Louis Riel became the president of the provisional government, and he created the “Declaration of the People of Rupert’s Land and the North-West”. The bill didn’t allow Canada to take over the Northwest and wanted to negotiate with the government instead.Added to timeline:
