It was originally written in French, and was a philosophical and autobiographical treatise. It is considered as one of the most influential philosophical works, as it gave us the famous quotation, “I think, therefore I am”. It was also a very important development in the field of natural sciences. In this book, Descartes discusses skepticism, doubt, and truth, among many other topics. It was important because of the impact it made on the philosophical world, and also helped to spread ideas and literacy throughout Europe.
