apr 1, 1804 - Keats' father dies
Description:
Thomas Keats is thrown off a horse after visiting John at school. Following his death Frances (Keats' mother) soon remarries and sends the children to live with their elderly grandmother. The marriage is unsuccessful. She will later return to the family, ill with tuberculosis.
Thomas Keats died intestate (without a will). Although he had money to leave to his family, complications with his will and lawyer meant his family were unable to access the funds that were rightfully theirs.
