jan 15, 1905 - Bloody Sunday

Description:

A demonstration at the Czar's winter palace that showed he was not interested in a petition and so he organized the police to greet the mass population in front of the palace with open fire, something that released anti-semitism and fulled criticism of the Czar and support for representatives of the government. Huge strikes and demonstrations by workers coincided with protests from intellectuals, revolutionary and peasents. Percursor for the 1917 Revolution and the Duma.
