The Japanese invaded China. By 1938 most of China was occupied by the Japanese forces. Refugees made HK’s population raise to over a million. The British surrendered to HK on christmas day, it’s known in HK now as “Black Christmas”. There were also tremendous food shortages.Added to timeline:
