dec 28, 1940 - The First Bombe Is completed
The Bombe was built to decrypt the Nazi ENIGMA-based military communications during WWII. The Bombe was built by computer pioneer Alan Turing and Harold Keen of the British Tabulating Machine Company. Hundreds of Bombes were built to crack the daily start positions of Enigma cipher machines, which allowed the allies to decrypt German messages.
