Description:
The Indian numbering system was developed by Indian mathematicians who also developed the concept of zero and of negative numbers. This is important because we use this numbering system today, even though we call it Arabic. Also the development of the concepts of zero and negative numbers was important because it showed the advanced culture of India and also helped further mathematics and learning.
