The Varnas are clusters of caste groups in Aryan society; four social castes– Brahmans (priests), warriors, merchants, and peasants; beneath 4 Aryan castes was group of socially untouchables. This was important because the caste system was extremely important to Indian culture and still is today. The caste system regulated what jobs people could have, who they married, and restricted movement on the social ladder.
