The Ignorant Philosopher was written by Voltaire and was originally published in 1766. This piece is on one side of Voltaire's attack on Religious Tolerance. He used his wit and intellect to make his work as widely known as it is today, even from the controversy it brought. Voltaire believed that after analyzing the Bible that it was dubious and thus reflected in his beliefs of separation of the state and church.
