Description:

The First Book of Common Prayer was published by Thomas Cranmer on January 15, 1549. This book of common prayer abolished the Latin Mass in England. This book was most widely used within the Anglican Church. The Book however when through a revision in 1662. The Book was viewed as a compromise between old and new ideas and was read in places that were diplomatically obscure in its teachings. This caused an arousal in opposition from both conservatives and reformers of the time.
