jan 1, 1523 - Ignatius of Loyola, “Rules for Thinking with the Church”
Description:
This work by Ignatius of Loyola was known as a Memorandum (set of rules) and was written between 1522 and 1524. Written to the common churchgoers of the Catholic Church Loyola mentioned that everyone should have highly religious lives and that you should praise virginity and celibacy above matrimony. He also mentioned the importance of praising the regulations that the church gives. One last thing he says is most important is to praise the church hymns whether while inside of the church or not. Ignatius of Loyola thought that by creating this, it would encourage and be of spiritual guidance that Christians needed. His goal was to inform the common people on the regulations of the Catholic Church.
