The Plague is unleashed.
Records have been lost as to who Patient Zero was, but it is known that the sickness spread across continents in a matter of years.
Quarantine zones were established first, as the disease was thought to have been contracted through touch, but those quickly fell as the Plague became airborne. It affected only humans, and as time progressed the symptoms generated faster. Soon, someone who was expected to live another 10 years was expected to live only a year after contracting it.
Humanity went from 7.5 billion to 2 million in a matter of 50 years; the world reduced to almost nothing.
