jan 1, 1878 - First telephone exchange

Description:

The first telephone exchange was settled in New Haven in 1878. It had 21 subscribers; Mark Twain was one of them.
How it works? When the person who called picked up the telephone, the recipient was activated in the switchboard and an electrical switchboard informed the operator, and this moved a lever that asked to the subscribers with who they want to talk.
