Just before APEX 2015, McLeodGaming announced and streamed a second McLeodGaming Direct on Twitch detailing much of the new content to be present in the following demo release, which was now called SSF2 Beta because it would be the last major demo before the game's final release. The new content revealed includes a showcase of Isaac, moveset revamps for several characters (Sora, Lloyd, and Tails), new and resprited stages (including the reveal of the previously teased Desk), and multiple game modes, including Home-Run Contest, Classic, character-specific Target Smash stages, and a brand new multiplayer game mode known as Arena. At the end of the direct, a teaser was shown revealing Bowser as a playable character.
