Description:

On September 1st, 1939 Germany with Adolf Hitler leading, invaded Poland. In return this led Great Britain and France to declare war on Germany, and World War II beginning. seeing up to World War II Germany had been political and economic unstable due to the terms of the Treaty of Versailles. The Treaty of Versailles fueled the rise of power to Adolf Hitler and his National Socialist (Nazi) Party. During the first two years of the war, the US remained neutral, although it supplied Allied forces through the Lend Lease program. However, after Japan bombed the naval port of Pearl Harbor, the US officially declared war. The US suffered over 400,00 casualties. Another half million plus were injured. The US struggled to fight a war on two fronts: the Pacific and across Europe. During the war American women entered the workforce like never before. After the war with the return of soldiers, America experienced a lot of economic growth. Women did not really remain in the workforce .
