jan 1, 1945 - WW2 - Sea Warriors

Description:

This film was WW2 japanese propaganda, the film was used as a staging device to incite warfare in the naval front. The story is about creatures returning home from navel operations training and saying goodbye as they go off to warfare. Ironically, this is the first feature length film Japan has created with a major backing of funds, It took a war to boost Japans animation quality and production levels to get the support the industry needed to thrive. After the war ended and Japan was defeated, many industries fell flat, the war took a major toll on Japan especially in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. However animation was not dead, from the ashes grew a company that utilised decent to big budget (for the time) animation as it was seen as a tool of influence, just like how propaganda films influenced kids into war.
