Description:
As Western states like Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri were admitted into the Union they adopted a new constitution which allowed all white males (regaurdless of religion or social class) to vote. This not only increase votes from 350,000 in 1824 to 3.2 million 1840, it also made politicians change the way they compaigned since the "common man" made up most of the people voting.
