Description:

The Byzantine Empire was still considered part of the Roman Empire as it adopted Greco-Roman cultures and the poeple still considered themselves Roman. When this city fell, the empire fell and as a result, the Roman Empire had fallen. SInce the Byzanitne EMpire was still considered to be the Eastern Roman Empire, when it fell the Roman Empire no longer existed. This was significant as it impacted the Renaiisance, explporation and the cultrue of eastern Europe.
