mar 3, 1918 - Treaty of Brest-Litovsk signed
March 3, 1918
Description:
Significance: The treaty ended Russia's involvement in WWI, causing the war on the Eastern Front to come to an end since Russia was mostly the country fighting on the Eastern Front on the side of the Allies. This took Germany out of a two-front war, allowing them to now be able to put their entire focus, military power, and resources on the Western Front and fight offensively. Russia also lost vast amounts of its territory which later became independent nations, such as Finland, Poland, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
