Gold nuggets found in Sacramento Valley was the beginning of many people traveling to help find this gold. A total of $2 billion was extracted during the Gold Rush. Minors extracted more than 750,00 pounds of gold. Many people began to migrate from all places to California. It sped up California's admission to the union.
