Some time in 395 CE, Rome is split into the Western Roman Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire (the Byzatine Empire), for his two sons, Honorius and Arcadius. Honorius was only ten years of age at the time, and his guardian, Flavius, Stilicho, a military leader, ruled after the empire for him.
