CCG GTH Vidulum Track
Description:
After doing their first project in the beginning of the year, the ridiculous drag version of the '45 Romanov Carrier that went viral, Crazy Classic Garage (CCG) were far from being done for the year.
Their second 2010 project unexpectedly ended up in their hands when they aquired a 1990 GTH Vidulum 2.5 that was about to be scrapped. It was in bad condition to say the least. No shine left on the finish, rusty, missing a wheel and part of the suspension, and no engine.
It was clear that Carl and his buddies at CCG needed to get busy if they were gonna get this poor 20 year old Vidulum in working condition. But, knowing CCG, they will not restore it to factory condition. As a matter of fact, they turned it into a track toy.
After using a already made engine for their first project, they decided to build their own for this one. It's a 2 liter turbo inline 6 engine, making 285 horsepower and 348 Nm of torque. It's got AWD and uses a 6 gear sequential gearbox for super quick shifting. It blasts from 0-100kmh in only 4.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 228 kmh.
Being a track-only car, it comes fitted with a set of sticky semi-slick racing tires, roll-cage and race tuned suspension, along with aerodynamic improvements and overall more modern styling.
This was a one-off vehicle and was sold for $35.900 once it was ready. The buyer was the son of a high profile investment banker. He had aspirations to become a racing driver, but didn't possess the skills or mentality required, so he bought this car to mess around with his friends on his family's private race track. This was a bit of a turning point for CCG, as the buyer ran in elite circles of people with more money then they can spend. Word spread of this small niche custom car shop and CCG's next project was actually a commision from a friend of his. It would be their first commission, with more to come.
