13h 51min, mar 31, 1934 y - The Long March

Description:

Communists who escaped the 1927 purge fled to Jiangxi province to establish their own government, modeled after the Russian communist regime.
In 1934, nationalists forces repeatedly assaulted the communists, forcing the communists to evacuate Jiangxi.
In the Long March, 10,000 communists traveled on foot to Shaanxi province in northwestern China, a 6,000-mile journey. While crossing 18 mountain ranges and 24 rivers, the communists were chased by Nationalist troops and strafed aircraft.
Upon their arrival, the survivors and the communists already in Shaanxi, set up new headquarters, with Mao Zedong as the leader.
