Description:
The surviving Communist who escaped the purge fled to the Jiangxi province. They set up their own government and modeled it after the Soviet Union’s government.
The Nationalist repeatedly attacked the Communist government. As the attacks became more destructive the Communists were forced to flee from Jiangxi.
This set off the Long March, which lasted over a year, and over 100 000 communist were involved in.
They were chased by troops and aircraft daily, and many men would perish in the long walk.
Those who survived settled in the mountain town of Shaanxi, and this became their official headquarters
