1) In 1831, an abolitionist crusader William Lloyd Garrison published the Liberator, a weekly-published newspaper about slavery. 2) It was the most influential antislavery newspaper in the antebellum period of US history and it drew many people's attention of abolition. It caused a fierce conflict and debate on anti-slavery and slavery.
