After the pass of Kansas-Nebraska Act and the implement of popular sovereignty, Pro- and anti-slavery agitators flocked to Kansas, hoping to shift the decision by more voters. 2) “Bleeding Kansas” could be seem as the first battle of civil war and its violence shocked and troubled the nation. It led to the establishment of the Republican Party and led to the rise of people like John Brown.
