may 22, 2076 - Hero (Cinematic)

Description:

Alejandra's mother sends her out to get some flour. Alejandra obliges, but not without making her frustration at her mother's doting on her quite clear.

As evening falls, she encounters her first obstacle in the form of Los Muertos members beating up an omnic. She tries to sneak past them, but she's spotted and is 'encouraged' to take part in the beating. She tries to wriggle her way out of it, but the member aren't having it.

They eventually head off, but not without robbing her of the money her mother had given her. She runs off after them. She manages to catch up as night falls, but discovers that someone else found the gang as well, and is in the process of incapacitating their members. It is Soldier: 76.

She takes cover as a gunfight erupts between the gang members and Soldier: 76. The gang bears a hasty retreat, but not before one of them lobs a grenade Soldier: 76's direction, the explosive coming to rest at Alejandra's feet.

Soldier: 76 manages to shield her from the blast. Asking him why he saved her, he grimly answers that old habits die hard, and tells her to head home (after returning her purse to her). She realizes that he's one of the Overwatch heroes her mother used to tell her about, even as he responds that he isn't a hero anymore, which she disagrees with

With flour and an old and an old Overwatch poster in hand, she returns home in much better spirits, telling her mother about the night's events. Meanwhile, he watches over her form above, making sure she returned home safely to her mother.

Alejandra later gives a testimony concerning the event and calls Soldier: 76 a hero.
