Even though the leadership of Overwatch went to Reyes, Morrison has a greater impact on the group in the long term.

He brings out the best in the people around him and helps mold Overwatch's diverse (and sometimes conflicting) agents into a cohesive fighting force.

During the conflict, Morrison often expresses hope that the war will end quickly, and that he can return to a normal life. However, this quickly proves not to be the case. During or after the conflict, Morrison realizes that his relationship with Vincent can't work out due to the demands of his position.
