Some soldiers and scientists show remarkable ingenuity in acclimating to the Omnic Crisis. The United Nations covertly brings a few of these unique minds together to form a small, nimble team, aimed at striking significant blows against omnic strongholds.Named Overwatch, this group is an international task force that wages asymmetrical warfare against the omnics.
Some of the people considered for recruitment include American super-soldiers Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes, Egyptian sniper Ana Amari, German Crusader Balderich von Adler, Swedish engineer Torbjorn Lindholm, and AI scientist Dr. Mina Liao, whom the organization sees potential in, despite her part in the making of the Crisis.
These six founding members are given medals in the shape of the organization's logo with their names etched on the back as an indication of their selection.
