On December 7th, 1941, Japan decided to bomb Pearl Harbor. The significance is that this was the reason why the US got involved in World War 2, yet Japan bombed Pearl Harbor for them to not participate in that war. As well as being scared of Japan. So you can say that this plan had backfired (every year on December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day is celebrated).Added to timeline:
