mar 15, 1954 - Operation Wetback

Description:

Operation Wetback was a mass deportation of illegally immigrated Mexicans. Operation Wetback became a thing at least partly in response to a portion of the American public that was angry at the widespread corruption among employers of sharecroppers and growers along the Mexican border. It was also, because of the Border Patrol’s inability to stem the influx of illegal workers. There was a lot of racial profiling going on.
