Description:
This act forced all borders to shut out all Chinese trying to get into the US. Employers hired many Chinese because they were good workers, so when Chinese were banned from entering the US, employers began hiring other Asian immigrants. This caused other Asian immigrants to come to the US and increase the population of those immigrants in the US.Significance: It gave more opportunities to other Asian immigrants to get hired. Lowered immigration because the Chinese could not enter the US.
