Title VII was connected with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and included gender to the act to dissolve further discrimination of women. Title VII specifically bans employment discrimination based on race, religion, national origin or sex.

Significance: This piece of legislation took away some of the sexism in society and stopped employment discrimination so that women can be hired as equals to men.
