jun 30, 2016 - Pentagon lifts ban on trans people serving openly in US Military

Description:

On June 30, 2016, the Pentagon gets rid of the ban on transgender people openly serving the US Military in the US. The ban was lifted only about a month later after Eric Fanning became the first openly gay secretary working in the US military branch.

This was significant because the ban of LGBT working in US military forces was big discrimination and evidence to LGBTQ's not being treated equal. But this release of the ban gave the LGBTQ more freedom and equality, adn was another big step forward in their fight.

Quote: "The Pentagon said Thursday it was ending the ban on transgender people being able to serve openly in the U.S. military."
