The Kellog-Briand Pact was an international agreement in which states promised not to use war to fix disputes or conflict, signed by Germany, France, and the U.S. This didnt entirely prevent all wars, as WWll couldnt be prevented, but the use of peaceful settlement of disputes and collective force were put into the United Nations Charter and other treaties.
