feb 16, 1936 - The Popular Front
Description:
The Popular Front was an electoral coalition signed in January 1936 by left-wing organizations, brought by Manuel Azaña. At this time Spain was divided into two, the left and the right. The left had become alarmed by the right destroying the left in Germany in 1933. The creation of the CEDA going into the government in October 1934 caused Asturias to try to revolutionize. The aftermath of this was the creation of the Popular Front.
