Description:

This march's purpose was to bring awareness to the civil rights issues that African Americans faced. This march, unfortunately, ended with the state troopers stopping the marchers, and beating, killing, and physically and verbally harassing them. This event, which was publicized for all to see, started to form empathy within whites towards African Americans after they saw such terrible cruelty placed upon the blacks.

Significance: Started empathy within Whites towards Blacks because of how publicized the event became.
