jan 1, 1929 - Economic Depression

Description:

Spain was in an economic crisis. This was due to having around 1 million out of 3 million people in the workforce unemployed. The tax revenues that were placed upon the Poole had also contributed to the problem. The average wage in Spain for a person was around 5.86 pesetas. Because of the high number of unemployment people began getting violent because the government hadn’t done much to aid them in the crisis. Violence had become a common thing and production rates had begun to decline shortly after. All of the commotion had forced the Prime Minister, Miguel Primo de Rivera, to resign.
