Pre-launh, Eagle hyped the Phantom up and it was primed to be top end car in GPI scores. With a super smooth 3.5L V10 engine, the prestige was high, but it didn't perform as they had hope. It's biggest downfall was the rather bad fuel economy of the V10 engine.

However, it still did pretty well, despite not living up to the company's high ambition for the car. It sold decently enough as people liked the luxury interior and entertainment system, coupled with a sort of a supercar look and decent performance, at a reasonable price.
