mar 17, 2007 - 2007 GTH Automotive Vikin V12

Description:

The years leading up to the financial crisis in 2008 were very fruitful in Iceland. Economy was booming and GTH Automotive were not going to miss out.

Up until this point GTH had only been making fairly sensible cars at a reasonable pricepoint, but with this seemingly endless economic fruition, they begun work on the Viking V12, the first Icelandic Supercar!

The Viking is a mid-engined car, packing a 4.5L naturally aspirated V12 engine. It propels from 0-100kmh in less then 3 seconds and reaches around 300kmh. Couple that with great suspension and you got yourself quite a ride. It's biggest downside would be fuel economy, but if your pockets are deep enough to own a Viking V12, you shouldn't have to worry about gas prices.

It had a limited production run of only 300 cars and if you wanted one you needed to be quick to open your wallet and willing to spend. The Viking would set you back $170.000 at launch in 2007, and after the initial reveal of just the engine, all 300 cars were pre-sold within 24 hours of the engine reveal. Aside of a couple of cars sellin to the US, and another two going to Japan, the rest was all sold within Europe.

If you want one today, you're going to have a hard time to find one for sale as they have been appreciating in value ever since the 300 cars sold before launch. Because of that, the owners are reluctant to put their Vikings up for sale as they are due to keep rising in value in the years to come.

Price at launch in 2007:
$170.000
